Barack Obama has promised his two young girls that the family will get a dog after the election – win or lose. The American Kennel Club has announced that Americans have voted in favor of Obama getting a Poodle. While we think there’s nothing wrong with purebred dogs, we support The Best Friends Network in encouraging Obama to adopt a dog whether it be a purebred or a mixed breed.
While some 42,000 people voted in the AKC poll, 50,000 people signed the Best Friends Network petition to ask that Obama adopt a dog. Chances are even more people would have signed the petition, but it was cut off once the goal of 50,000 signatures was reached!
