Visit a Brewery
The Cape Fear area is full of amazing breweries that are totally cool with you bringing your pup inside for a brew. Some of our faves include Flying Machine Brewing Company, The Sour Barn, Waterline Brewery, and Flytrap Brewing.
Take a Hike
There are great spots to get your dog outside year-round. Carolina Beach State Park is a local favorite but there are plenty of other walking and hiking trails for all skill levels all within a one hour drive.
Go Shopping
Dog-friendly shopping options are plentiful! The Cotton Exchange in downtown Wilmington is a perfect way to hit multiple dog-friendly stores in one spot. Make sure you stop by Java Dog to order a puppuccino. If you’re getting ready for your next race, take your pooch to Omega Sports in Hanover Center to help pick our your new running gear.
Road Trip
There a many fun places to go within a few hours or less of the Cape Fear region. Head north and explore the shops and trails of Beaufort and then head out to Fort Macon. Venture south and Myrtle Beach has some excellent dog parks and trails.
Take a Ferry Ride
Who doesn’t love to have their ears flapping in the wind as they hit the high seas? It’s not exactly the high seas, but dogs are allowed on all outside areas of the Southport-Fort Fisher ferry. Note: The ferry is temporarily out of service due to repairs until 4/6/2020.
